"Evening Trip to Hibarigaoka on February 21st, 1991"

Riding an outgoing Seibu-Ikebukuro Line rush-hour(s) train to Hibarigaoka; climbing the old station stairs (nearly the entire station has since been rebuilt); going through the manual ticket gates with a real live human being taking tickets (ticket gate automation in Tokyo was just beginning at this time), and then walking through a bookstore and down a nearly deserted street.  It's hard to pin it down exactly, but there was definitely a different atmosphere in 1991 compared to 2010 - not surprisingly I guess, but having been here the whole time, there's an unanswerable question: When did this change occur?

1991年2月21日、西武池袋線の下り電車、ひばりが丘行き  東京  (Recorded on Thursday, February 21st, 1991, at 8:15 p.m.)
