"Yurakucho, Chuo Line View of Kanda, & Lonely Ogawa"

From narrow passages under the elevated railways in Yurakucho and walking down a Yurakucho Street as a standard pedestrian, to viewing nighttime Kanda through a Chuo Line window, and finally contemplating how lonely a late night burbs station is in cold February (in this case Ogawa).

"Passageways Under the Tracks in Yurakucho" (100223-1732)

Walking through narrow passageways under the elevated railways in Yurakucho.  There are not so many of these types of places left.  New construction of glittering high-rises in Yurakucho has elevated the land prices in this area and thus the rents of the businesses operating here....

"Yurakucho - Walking Towards Station" (100223-1736)

Walking towards Yurakucho Station, moving in parallel with the JR elevated railways (to the right).

"Chuo Line - Nighttime Window View of Kanda Area" (100223-1823)

Looking out a left-side window of a Chuo Line train as it departs Kanda Station.

Kanda is where Japan started for me back in 1984 - as it's the first place I stayed (for a week at an old brick hotel since torn down).

"Nighttime Ogawa Station - Mostly Empty" (100223-2229)

In stark contrast to central hub stations on the Yamanote Line, like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ueno, Tokyo, etc., 10:30 p.m. at a station out on a burbs line is a lonely place to be - with just people from each outbound train rushing out of the station quickly on the way home.
